Frank nearly made the Metropolitans' all-time team, being narrowly edged out for third base by Dude Esterbrook. He actually may have been a better pitcher than an infielder; check out that 1879 season for Chicago. Frank was named the all-time defensive third baseman for the American Association by Stats, Inc.
