Steve was a Mets regular for four seasons, and
played his way onto their all-time team on the strength of his good 1885
campaign. He certainly heard his share of applause from the New York fans, as
he scored over 100 runs in the championship season of 1884, and tied for the
team lead in stolen bases with 16 in his final year. The picture at the right
