Michael pitched parts of five seasons with
the Twins in the 2010s, then disappeared from the majors for five more
years. During that five-year hiatus, he
took a season to play across the sea in the Nippon Professional League, and did
well enough that he was sought again in the states. He showed up in the Braves’ bullpen in 2023,
and more than doubled his previous career totals in both wins and saves in just
that one season in Atlanta. The Mets
signed him the following winter; then, a few minutes into the 2024 season,
traded him back where he had started—Minnesota.
Stopped back with the Mets for a
quick victory, and then circumstances transpired that actually led to Michael’s
second release from the Mets later in the same month as his first release. Due to MLB’s crazy influx of mediocre relief pitchers and the growing need
for constant roster manipulation, he became (as far as I know) the first man to
ever pitch two different times for two different clubs in the same major league
season. Michael is shown here pitching
for upstate New York on his 2015 Choice Rochester Red Wings card.

This
is a list of the cards of this player that I had in my Mets collection before I
transferred the ownership of said collection to another diligent and capable
Mets fan. The cards that are listed in light gray print and struck through are
cards that were sold for charity prior to my divestiture. The cards listed in white text are the ones
that still remained until that final deal.
Items listed in green I kept out of the deal, just so I'd have something
to display in my office and den. At the
bottom and listed in orange text are cards that I picked up after the dealing
was done, in order to maintain a certain continuity at this site; that is, so
I'd have a card to show you at the top of the page, and maybe in the autographs
and game-used areas. If an orange card
is struck through, it has also departed the collection. I’m still accepting donations, should you
feel so moved. Contact me by following
