Second base was a revolving door for the
Mets, but it was filled most capably, perhaps, by Dasher Troy in the
championship season of 1884. As far as I could tell when I first created this
website, there was never a baseball card made of Dasher Troy, and there was no
photograph in existence that anyone else knew about either, so I made a
"pretend" card of the diminutive second baseman so he would be
represented at the Hall of Heroes; click on the golden button below to see it. Since that time, the marvelous website known
as Baseball-Reference.com managed to land a photo of Dasher; it's shown above.
