Jimmy Knowles
James "Darby" Knowles
Batted: Right
Threw: unknown
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 160 lbs.
Born: September 5, 1856 in Toronto, ON

Jimmy was one of several second baseman the
Metropolitans tried out in 1887, and--judging by the season he had for
Rochester in his next big-league action--they probably should've given him a
longer look. Still, there must have been something lacking in his game ... not
one team he ever played for invited him back for a second season. The photo above was lifted from
Baseball-Reference.com.
